My work explores the intersections of identity, trauma, and migration, deeply shaped by my personal experiences and the collective memory of the Yugoslav Wars. Using photography, performance, and mixed media, I engage with the tension between presence and absence, displacement and belonging.
A central element of my practice is the performative use of my own body—not just as a subject but as a medium. By positioning myself within the frame, I reclaim agency, shifting from an object of memory to an active narrator of my own story. Inspired by the generation of female artists who used their bodies as living sculptures or canvases, I employ masks, mirrors, and collage to explore themes of alienation, identity fragmentation, and suppressed memory.
My work often carries a surreal, dreamlike quality, reflecting the blurred boundaries between past and present, reality and memory. Through this approach, I invite viewers to engage with my imagery not just as personal narratives but as spaces for their own reflection—where the intimate becomes universal and the unseen takes form.
